New management for CELTH
The Center of Expertise Leisure, Tourism & Hospitality (CELTH) has new management. Outgoing director Menno Stokman will be succeeded by Jos van der Sterren and Anke Arts, an interim director duo.
The new CELTH management will continue the current research program on destinations, sustainability, leisure, and hospitality together with the team. CELTH's efforts within various networks, including the National Council for Recreation and Tourism, the Hospitality Pact, and the Professional Doctorate, will also remain unchanged.
Discussions with other colleges in the leisure domain are continuing about a possible expansion of CELTH. The new management will also explore with companies in the leisure, tourism and hospitality sectors how CELTH's impact on the field can be increased.
Jorrit Snijder, Chairman of the Executive Board of Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas) and the CELTH Board: “Jos and Anke jointly have extensive experience in the field of research, tourism and administration and have a good network. I am convinced that they can make a good connection between the social challenges of the industry on the one hand and solutions from education and research on the other. This is important for the future further development of CELTH.”
Jos van der Sterren: “CELTH has acquired a unique position in the Netherlands. I hope to be able to expand this further and look forward to collaborating with the multidisciplinary team from the universities of applied sciences.”
Anke Arts: “In the past period at CELTH I have already been able to experience and contribute to the power of collaboration across colleges and domains. I look forward to furthering the ambitions with sector partners and hospitality.”
