Avoiding visitor pressure in European cities

Our research mapped out methods to prevent visitor pressure in European cities, both physically and mentally. Cities like Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, Lisbon and Munich were studied to determine what visitor pressure really is and what potential solutions might be.

We used the results of this research and the results of our next visitor pressure project to publish a handbook called ‘Overtourism in cities, understanding visitor growth’ together with UNWTO. The handbook is now available for download.
